Sylk Sotto-Santiago, EdD, MBA
Sylk Sotto-Santiago is a nationally recognized scholar and leader. Currently, she serves as the inaugural associate vice chancellor for Faculty Development and Inclusive Excellence for University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences, where she is also an associate professor of medicine at the School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. Prior to that, Sotto served as vice-chair for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development, and as vice-chair for Diversity, Health Equity, and Inclusion; and a tenured associate professor in the Department of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. She was affiliated with the Indiana Clinical and Translational Institute (IN CTSI) and served as co-director of workforce development and director of All IN for Health, a program dedicated to improving the health of Indiana residents. Sotto teaches several courses in research ethics, medical humanities topics, culturally relevant practices in medicine, and foundations of clinical practice in the Spanish immersion program. At the national level, Sotto served as president of the Administrators in Internal Medicine (AIM), on the board of directors and as diversity & inclusion liaison for the Alliance of Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM).
Sotto earned a BS in chemistry from Colorado State University; an MBA, a masters in healthcare leadership as well as a doctorate in higher education (EdD) from University of Denver.
